Well, the holidays are over, but this elf is still in the workshop. I think I was overly ambitious in trying to make all my gifts and I am still working on a few. Unfortunately, I gave some away before photographing them, so no pix. 🙁
One of the gifts I am working on is fingerless gloves. I don’t really knit very well, so I am trying them on a knitting board. Has anybody out there used one? What do you think?
I am a much better crocheter, so I am making a backup pair, just in case it doesn’t work out with the knitting board. I really like the popcorn stitch around the wrist.
Besides the gloves, I made a linen scarf with block printing and sashiko embroidery. This lovely color is a warm gray called gray sparrow from Fabrics-Store.com. They have a great selection of linen. Unfortunately, the photo is overexposed, so I am also including a swatch so you can see the color better. The stitching is in two variations of light blue and a light gray.
I also am working on a wall weaving and I started 2 new paintings. I think I’ll save those for the next posting, so stayed tuned.
Happy New Year to all!
