Hand dyed pouches and totes

Lately I’ve been combining hand dyed fabric with my leather work to make bags. I like dyeing fabric and trying different techniques.

The tote on the left was dyed with Fiber Reactive Procion Dyes for Cotton, Rayon, Linen and Hemp. The color is mushroom. I get mine from Dharma Trading because they have a great selection of colors and you can buy it in small or large quantities. The pocket was rust dyed by @EbonCloth. I also rust dye, but sometimes I like to try other dyers out.

The zipper pouch is linen that was ice dyed. It was my first time trying this technique and I am really happy with the results.

The third photo zipper pouches made with Shibori dyed fabric. Indigo dyeing is pretty messy, so sometimes I buy fabric from other dyers and sometimes I do it myself.

Using hand dyed fabric offers you the opportunity to make a truly one-of-a-kind bag. If you are a bag maker, give it a try. If not, check out what is available in my shop.and treat yourself by adding a unique accessory to your wardrobe or give one as a gift.
